Territorial Representation and Marielle Franco

In March 2018, after a news website published a short note Marielle Franco’s number of votes at the Maré neighborhood, I published an analysis on Medium called Territorial Representation and Marielle Franco (in Portuguese), which showed how her votes were distributed across the city of Rio de Janeiro.

In the text, I discuss some precautions and data issues for spatial analysis of Brazilian elections, and I also present some ideas on “territorial representation”.

Code used in the analysis is available in a repo on my GitHub profile.
